Why an Online Parenting Class for ADHD Helps the Whole Family

If your child has been diagnosed with ADHD after having ADHD testing in Overland Park, it can be difficult as a parent to know where to start. Most likely, you have received some warning signs from your time at home with your child or by talking with your child’s instructors.

Your child may need to do additional learning disability evaluations in Overland Park or child dyslexia evaluations in Overland Park. These can help rule out any other potential issues before beginning treatment.

Once an exact diagnosis has been made during an Overland Park ADHD evaluation, it’s time to start learning what you can do as a parent to help your child. An online Overland Park ADHD parenting class is a great place to start this journey.

I am currently offering two different online courses to assist parents with the challenges that come with having a child who has been diagnosed with ADHD. These are an extension to my book, “Parenting ADHD with Wisdom and Grace” and will support parents in the positive development of children and adolescents.

These two online courses are:

  • ADHD Connect: Developing an Intervention Plan
  • Why Won’t My Child Listen?

Each online Overland Park ADHD parenting class is designed to give parents a better understanding of ADHD and provide suggestions on how to support your child. Learning strategies that improve daily functioning can be pivotal for families and couples struggling to give their child the best possible support.

ADHD Connect: Developing an Intervention Plan

Parents often feel alone if their child has ADHD. It can be overwhelming to find interventions besides medication to support their child. I hear from parents quite often who are desperately seeking a strategy to help them manage their child’s ADHD.

This course helps parents identify the specific behaviors in their child that require intervention. Parents will be able to develop specific steps which gives them of mind knowing that they have a plan in place.

Why Won’t My Child Listen?

When parents are yelling too much and their child is not listening, the problem often lies within communication. In this course, parents will learn how to give direction in a way that their child will listen more often. Parents will also learn strategies that will help develop growth within their relationship with their child.

The biggest reward for many parents after taking this course is that they begin to understand the principles behind their behavior. Parents will also sharpen their skills which often leads to better communication and cooperation with their child.
